Calling all toddlers and preschoolers! Join park staff as they read a selection from our wonderful library of children’s nature-themed storybooks. A special surprise, such as an animal interaction, themed craft, or coloring activity will follow each story time.
INCREDIBLE EDIBLE NATIVE PLANTS

Have you ever wondered which plants are edible and which ones are not? Join our experienced guides as they teach you Kumeyaay plant wisdom and modern foraging techniques.This course features a half-mile nature walk through the beautiful San Elijo Lagoon with a focus on plant uses. We will then prepare and sample food dishes made from native plants. Please bring a small notepad, sunscreen, hat, water, snacks, and appropriate hiking shoes. Class is open to all ages, and advance registration is encouraged.
